ABOUT ROVERS
Bellringing on tour by bicycle since 1947
The Society was formed in 1947, when 4 ringers placed an advert in The Ringing World for like-minded folk to join their ringing and cycling tour. Annual events include a week-long tour in the summer and a reunion weekend in February.

Nowadays, tours are usually based in a self-catering hostel. We aim for a high standard of ringing and can typically manage a variety of Surprise Major and Royal as well as a wide repertoire of Minor methods.
TOUR
Our week-long tour is held annually in July-August. Typically, we are based in self-catering accommodation (e.g. hostel or farm cottages). Each day, we cycle to 4 or 5 towers and ring for about an hour at each location. People often take time out en-route to visit local points of interest, admire the view, visit a coffee shop – or a pub!
Although ringers don’t need to commit to the entire tour, priority is given to those who can join for the whole week. This isn’t a tower grab – it’s a cycling and ringing holiday!

Ringers of all ages are welcome to join the tour (from 16 to 116) although under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. Younger children (on tow) are also welcome.
If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.
